What is NREGA?
We have already told that MNREGA is also known as Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act Scheme. The fundamental objective of this scheme is to destroy unemployment and provide employment to every hand. MNREGA is considered very important especially in rural areas where there is lack of industrialization.
Anyone who is registered under this scheme started through the government is given a job card. With the help of that job card, the unemployed person gets a guarantee of 100 days of continuous employment from the government.
How much wages do you get in MNREGA?

What is the Wage of a Mate in NREGA?
The wages given to those working under MNREGA are the same as those paid under MNREGA. Its waiver also varies from state to state. For example, in Chhattisgarh, the wage of a mate in MNREGA is ₹ 221. Whereas in Rajasthan it is ₹ 255. Apart from this, the MET wage under MNREGA in Uttar Pradesh has been fixed at ₹ 230 and in Bihar it is ₹ 194. Similarly, under MNREGA, different mat wages have been fixed in every state.
