Rumor Swirling That Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Isn't Healthy

Dak Prescott has, statistically, been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL over the last few seasons.

Prescott's numbers are up there with the league's elite, but he doesn't have the same lucrative contract as some of his peers.

A new rumor surrounding Prescott heading into the 2024 season suggests that an injury could be the reason behind the lack of a new deal.

During an appearance on "The Ross Tucker Podcast," pro sports bettor Steve Fezzik said that Prescott is less than 100% with only a few weeks before minicamp begins.

"News is, he’s not 100%, and they’ve been betting against the Cowboys the last three days," Fezzik said, pointing to action on the Cowboys' win total for 2024.

"There’s rumors that he had an MRI. That’s unconfirmed, but that’s the rumors that I’m hearing."

Fezzik didn't elaborate on what Prescott's injury may be or the severity of said injury, but it's apparently enough to convince bettors that fading the Cowboys is a good idea.

Dallas' win total is currently set at 10. They won 12 games and the NFC East division title last year, so the bettors are clearly anticipating some sort of regression.

That may not all be attributed to Prescott, as the Cowboys lost Tony Pollard, Tyron Smith and others in free agency.

According to Athlon Sports, a team insider said that the rumor surrounding Prescott is a "non-story," but we'll see what happens with the quarterback in the coming weeks.

Prescott could be the first quarterback in NFL history to make $60 million per year, but the Cowboys may be apprehensive to pay him if his health is an issue.
